V.I.P. Day on the Farm
Join the Bakersfield Sister City Youth Ambassadors for a fun-filled day at V.I.P. Day at Murray Family Farms. This Saturday, October 1st from 10am – 4pm.
The students will be manning a booth, where they will be demonstrating how to fold origami cranes and raffling off small donated items. Like other participating groups, they keep any profits from their booth, while also receiving a portion of admission fees. This special day at Murray Family Farms kicks off their October Fun Fest with tributes to our community’s “givers” and “heroes.”
Come join the fun and support our Youth Ambassadors.
Wakayama 55th Anniversary
Bakersfield Ambassadors Presentation by Mayor Harvey Hall
In August of 2015, eight Bakersfield students traveled, at their own expense, to Bucheon, South Korea, one of Bakersfield’s sister cities. While there, they were hosted by families of Korean students and participated with the them in various activities and tours. On November 18, 2015, at the Bakersfield City Council, these students were presented by Mayor Harvey Hall with certificates of recognition as Bakersfield Ambassadors. All had a great experience and are looking forward to hosting Korean students at the end of December.
